This is a figure from Rackham's Cadwallon line. I saw a tutorial by Sebastian Archer a number of years ago where he painted this guy in shaded metallics, and I just loved the figure. So I bought a few copies. :-p
This isn't done with shaded metallics, however. Instead, it's done in the Non-Metallic Metal style, which I feel pretty comfortable with.
Amazing. Superb. I play D&D (sadly using 4e currently) and GURPS as well, but I am SO pathetic when it comes to being artistic that I use a thumbtack which I have applied some silver tin foil to so it looks "fancy." : - /
my eyes just exploded.
do you wet blend your nmm effect or build up the layers?
In my climate, it's pretty difficult to do any wet blending, though I have tried it a bit. For the most part, I'm layering, but I use a wet palette, and mix colors there, so I have a very broad range of colors that I can use to smooth out the blends.
Pretty cool, Something like this is definitely worth the buy.
Perfectly sited. Colour choice is gorgeous and, of course, it goes without saying that the brushwork is smooth as ever.
This is so good, honestly, I don't even know what to say.
